3 Month Budget Update

ree

As we finish our third full month on our own, I wanted to provide an additional monthly update against the budget. We were very pleased with the results and I think this represents closer to the average monthly spending for the next year or so.

Some thoughts:

  • We decided to remove the American numbers from two of the three phones…keeping it for mine…this reduced the cell phone costs by 100.

  • As I predicted, significantly lower food costs for the month. This is because of two reasons, we needed less staples as we had purchased them in previous months, and we ate out much less.

Overall, we spent about as much as I made at my job, which is much better then I initially expected. So this is making us very happy. Over time, my expectation is lower costs when we move out of Jerusalem and school ends for Zoe. So far, on course.

That's a chunk in rent, any plans to modify that portion of your budget?

Its not terribly expensive for Jerusalem, but we intend to move when Zoe finishes school in 3 years. We will also be looking for a new place in the next year to see if we can save money
